Plagiarism Checker Demo Video

Hello everyone, in this video I'll be showing you how to use our plagiarism checker tool. So this simple tool will help you see if another website is stealing your content. It does that by scanning your website, downloading all your content, and then scanning the other website you suspect of stealing your content by comparing all the content to see if there's any similarities or stolen content. Now there are obvious reasons why you don't want someone to steal your content. You put the time and effort into creating that—why should somebody else profit from it? But also, if you write an article, for example, and then someone copies it off your website, and Google happens to index their copy before yours, sometimes that stolen copy of your article will actually rank higher than your version. So it's really something you want to keep an eye on because it could be costing you traffic. Before we show you the tool in action, let's have a quick run-through of the settings. Here you simply enter your website. Now, if we recently scanned your website, you'll see an option pop up to say “please use saved scan on my website.” If you have that ticked, it just means we won't re-scan your entire website or take a copy of your content again. We'll use a cached version of it, which will make the scan much quicker. For the first time you put your website in there, you won’t see that option because we have to scan your website and take a copy of your content to compare against the website you think is stealing your content. Now here you enter the website you think might be stealing your content. In this instance, we've just got a demo website where we've put some content on there. Next, we move down to the plagiarism sensitivity setting. If you are 100% sure that they are stealing some content, set it to high sensitivity so you pick up all the little sentences and paragraphs that are copied. If you're unsure, just leave it in the middle at normal — that's fine. Next, we have some page include/exclude rules. These allow you to skip certain pages if you know the content is the same for a legitimate reason. You can also exclude certain content from being compared. You can put in sentences or words here, and if they contain any of these comma-separated words, they'll be excluded from the check. Finally, we have the scan speed. I would probably put that down to 5 because you don't want to scan someone else's website too quickly — you might cause them issues if you hit their website with too many requests. It might also block the IP address of the scanner so it can’t compare the content properly. But if you know the websites can handle it, then feel free to crank it up to whatever you want. Let's start a scan, come back in a minute, and we'll go through the results. So, after a few minutes, we've scanned our website — downloaded all the content — and compared it against a demo website which, in this example, we're pretending is copying our content. You can see that we've flagged several sentences that are exactly the same. They're on this web page here, which we took a little bit of content from just temporarily to test, and added to our demo page. You can see it’s flagged all the matching content there. Hopefully, you can see this is a really simple tool to use — you just put in your own website and the website you think may be stealing your content. It scans both websites, downloads all the content, and compares all the sentences to determine if that website is stealing your content or not. That concludes our video, and as always, thank you for watching.
